What's On in Berlin Until the End of August 2026: Events & Exhibitions Still Open

By Berlin ArtWalk · Updated 2026-07-23 · Berlin · Events · August 2026

Planning a Berlin trip before summer ends? Here's what's actually on between now and 31 August 2026. Every item below is pulled from the live feed in Berlin ArtWalk, which tracks 350+ events and 215+ galleries and museums and clears finished shows automatically — so nothing here has already closed. If you only have a few days, work down this list.

Exhibitions closing before September — see these first

These shows come down while it's still summer. Once they end, the app drops them from the Galleries tab overnight, so if a title is here it's still hanging:

  • Brancusi at the Neue Nationalgalerie — 150+ works with his Paris studio rebuilt inside the glass hall. Until 9 August.
  • Brigitte Meier-Denninghoff: Sculptures & Drawings 1946–1970 — Berlinische Galerie. Until 3 August.
  • Relevant to the System: Women in Ruling Families, and the Living Room display — both at the Humboldt Forum. Until 3 August.
  • Oscar Murillo: Collective Osmosis — Das Minsk Kunsthaus, Potsdam (an easy S-Bahn day-trip). Until 9 August.
  • Monira Al Qadiri: Hero — Berlinische Galerie. Until 17 August.
  • Seeing Words, Reading Images — PalaisPopulaire, Unter den Linden. Until 23 August.
  • '…this enemy is on the right!' The fight against National Socialism before 1933 — Gedenkstätte Deutscher Widerstand. Until 23 August.
  • Ocean Futures — Futurium, near the main station. Until 31 August, and admission is free.

Still on past August, but great now

If your dates slip into September you're still covered. Marina Abramović's 'Balkan Erotic Epic' runs at the Gropius Bau until 23 August, with Kerstin Brätsch's 'BAUBAU' in the same building into the winter. 'Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism' on Museum Island — roughly 100 works by Monet, Degas and Cézanne — runs until 27 September, the year Museum Island turns 200. Walter Schels's '16° Fische' is at C/O Berlin until 2 September, and the Kyiv Biennial, 'A Bird That Cannot Land', is at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art until 13 September.

Street-art tours you can book any day

Berlin's street art doesn't keep opening hours, and the top-rated walking tours run right through the summer. The original Alternative Berlin & Street Art Tour (€20, rated 4.6/5) still runs the Mitte–Kreuzberg–Friedrichshain route it invented in 2006; the Berlin Street Art & Graffiti Walking Tour (€20, 4.8/5) and the Off The Grid tour (€18, 4.9/5) go deeper on technique and the crews behind the walls. For a self-guided version, our urban art guide maps the landmark murals with addresses.

The late-August calendar to lock in

  • Klassik Open Air, Britzer Garten — 22 August, closing with fireworks.
  • Pop-Kultur Festival, Kulturbrauerei — 24–29 August: concerts, talks and readings.
  • Long Night of Museums — 29 August: 70+ museums open 6 pm to 2 am on one ticket, the best-value culture night of the year.
  • Berlin Art Week — early September, when the gallery city shifts into overdrive.

Keep this list current in the app

This page is a snapshot; the app is the live version. Berlin ArtWalk refreshes its 215+ galleries and daily events feed nightly, plots 450+ street artworks on one map, and builds AI walking tours with distance and time — plus the unglamorous essentials, public toilets and water fountains, on the same map. Search 'Berlin ArtWalk' in the stores or grab it free on the App Store and Google Play. See also our full guides to things to do in Berlin and the summer outdoors.

Tip: Every date below comes from the live feed in Berlin ArtWalk, which clears finished exhibitions automatically each night — so what you see in the app is only what's still open. Check it the morning you set out.
