By Barcelona ArtWalk · Updated 2026-10-05 · Barcelona · Events · October 2026 · Exhibitions

As of 5 October 2026 the Barcelona ArtWalk app tracks 404 live events and 676 galleries and exhibitions across the city. October opens with an international art fair, two neighbourhood festa majors reaching their biggest days, a street-art photography show in its final week, and closes with the city's biggest architecture weekend. Here's what's worth planning around over the next four weeks.

Swab Barcelona Art Fair: 8–11 October

The 19th edition of Swab, Barcelona's international independent art fair, opens with a preview night on 8 October and runs to the public from 9 to 11 October at the Palau Victòria Eugènia — more than 60 galleries and curatorial projects from 24 countries. A Day Pass (valid for one of the three public days) is €15, a Full Pass €25, reduced entry (students, seniors, large families) €10, and under-16s go free.

This week: two festa majors reach their big days

Festa Major de Les Corts, running since 2 October, hits Castellera Day on 10 October at noon, followed by a popular fideuada dinner (€10–12) on the 11th and a closing fire procession and pyromusical at the gardens on 12 October — most of the programme is free, with a few ticketed meals.

Across town, Festa Major de Sarrià — also running to 12 October — has its correfoc 'Sarrià en Flames' on Saturday 10 October (20:30–22:30) and a castellers day marking 150 years of human towers in Catalonia on Sunday 11 October at Plaça del Consell de la Vila. Free.

Last chance: street art in Les Corts (closes 15 October)

'Street Art & People BCN', forty photographs by Barcelona journalist Manel Antolí pairing the city's graffiti with the passers-by who walk past it, closes 15 October at Centre Cívic Tomasa Cuevas in Les Corts. Free entry. For a self-guided route through the murals themselves, see our street art guide.

Big shows running through the month

  • Camilla Wills — Fundació Joan Miró, running since 14 July to 17 January 2027; general admission from €17 online, €18 at the door.
  • Dalí Boulevard Cibernètic — a new 1,200 m² immersive exhibition at Casa Amatller on Passeig de Gràcia, open daily to 31 December; tickets at daliboulevard.com.
  • LEM Festival — the 31st edition of this experimental and free-jazz music festival runs 21–31 October across venues in Gràcia, including Centre Cívic La Sedeta; ticket prices vary by show.

Last chance in the galleries

  • The Time Left — Ignacio Iñigo and Lorenzo Fernández, Pigment Gallery, closes 10 October.
  • Synthetic Nature — Alejandro Monge, 3 Punts Galeria, closes 31 October.

Barcelona's biggest architecture weekend: 48h Open House (24–25 October)

The 17th edition of 48h Open House Barcelona opens 227 buildings across seven boroughs — Barcelona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Vilassar de Dalt, Sant Joan Despí, Badalona, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Sitges — for 275 guided visits, self-guided routes and audioguide tours. Completely free; the full building list goes live on the festival's site from early October.

Street art keeps its own rhythm through all of this — Poblenou's factory murals and the legal walls at Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies turn over most weekends, independent of any festival calendar.

All of it is live in Barcelona ArtWalk: the daily What's On feed, 676 galleries and exhibitions, 200+ murals and AI walking tours. For what led into this stretch, see last month's roundup. Free on iOS and Android.

Tip: The What's On feed in the free Barcelona ArtWalk app tracks every date on this page — Swab's public days, the correfocs and 48h Open House's full building list — updated daily.
